Primary Languages and Key Stage 3

It is never too early to learn a language! With many years of experience and by keeping up with the requirements of the National Curriculum, students can make a positive start to learning a language. I believe that learning a new language should be fun and not a chore! The lessons are tailored to the needs of the individual students and parents are always informed of progress and how they can help. I am happy to say that some students have successfully taken exams early!

Fun teaching, fun learning!

Students learn languages using a wide range of materials, such as useful websites, videos in the target language, games, quizzes and songs. By looking at practical methods of teaching and learning, even if that means playing cafés and shops in the target language!

Help between lessons

Students and parents can be safe in the knowledge that the life-line service is always available. You can email, text, Skype etc even if it is to know what a word means!

Parental support

As a mum myself, I know how important it is to know how you can help your child learn and how they are progressing. Parents are of course, more than welcome to attend lessons free of charge. However, if you prefer, a weekly update is provided in your child's workbook along with any homework with links to websites, useful apps and worksheets which you can use to help your child. You will also be updated n your child's progress when the lesson has ended.

Exams?

Of course, students are not forced to take exams early, but it is a possibility. There has been a number of students who have successfully taken an IGCSE or GCSE in their chosen language. There is a wide variety of exams available to choose from and with the forthcoming changes to the GCSE exams, I can work with schools if you would like to take your exam there.
