Terms and Conditions
1. Fees for tuition are from £20 per hour, payable weekly directly to your tutor.
2. Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will be billed to the client via an invoice to both your email and home address at a rate of no more than 1 hour of instruction. Failure to pay by the next lesson will result in termination of contract.
3. If in the rare event the tutor needs to cancel the lesson with less than 24 hours notice, there will not be a charge for the next / rescheduled lesson.
4. Although we work within the school curriculum, or to the specifications, we do not do homework or assignment questions that are meant to be the student's own work.
5. We strive to provide the best possible service. However, we will not be held accountable or responsible for the academic success or lack thereof demonstrated by the student/client. Although we will do everything in our power to help grades and skill sets improve, we can offer no guarantee thereto.
6. Tutorials will take place by the agreed method, date and time. Lessons will continue until a mutually agreed termination date. The tutorial will take place in the tutor’s home or online. You should pay your tutor the appropriate fees following each lesson in cash, cheque, PayPal or BACS.
7. There is a minimum 2 week contract period, after which the client may cancel the contract. This can be done verbally or in writing, and should give at least 1 week’s notice before the final tutorial.
8. Cancellations of more than 3 weeks in succession, or that which the tutor perceives as unreasonably regular will be considered for immediate termination of contract, and the tutoring slot may be offered to another client.
9. If a client fails to attend a lesson and no contact is made within 24 hours, the teaching slot will be made available to another client on the waiting list. An invoice will also be sent to the client to pay for the unattended lesson.
10. For online lessons, an invoice will be emailed the same day. Lessons must be paid for before subsequent lessons can take place.
11. Extended breaks from lessons by the client of more than 4 weeks in duration will attract a Retention Fee of 25% of usual lesson fees – payable directly to the tutor. This will ensure the services of the same time slot until the break has ended. If the client opts not to pay the Retention Fee then the same teaching slot may not be available after the break.
12. You are asked to arrive promptly. If you decide to leave your child you should return to collect them on time at the end of the lesson. If you are late, the lesson will only run until the usual end time, and be payable at the usual agreed price.
13. As lessons sometimes run consecutively, it will not be possible to provide much verbal feedback unless it is during the hour time slot. I am happy to discuss progress by telephone, email, or at other pre-arranged times, or will reduce time spent in direct teaching by 5 to 10 minutes to allow time for discussion on progress.
14. If parents/ guardians of children choose to leave their child alone with the tutor during the tutorial, they do so free of choice, at their own risk.
15. CT Languages will not sell, rent or distribute any clients’ personal information, or any information relating to children, to any 3rd parties.
16. By using our services clients are agreeing to the preceding Terms & Conditions, and also any future additions or amendments to these Terms & Conditions, which will be sent out to you via email.
